On Sunday evening a whole bunch of us went to watch Goodluck perform at The Oude Libertas in Stellenbosch. This was my first visit and I am absolutely in love!

It was also my first time watching Goodluck perform live and – although Z1 rant and raved about how amazing they are – I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did! I’m officially a fan!

What boggles my mind is how Juliet (the leadsinger) can jump around, dance and perform on those heels; I would’ve broken my neck a long long time ago! (I hope she has a good medical aid plan! Hehe!)

I ate way to much, danced on and off the stage like no-one was watching and enjoyed myself above and beyond what I thought I would! Perhaps the combination of a Savanna promotion, great friends, amazing entertainment and a cool crowd is what makes a good time; great! Overall it was a fun (yet relaxing; believe it or not) experience and I couldn’t have asked for a better way to end my very busy (work-filled) weekend!

I HIGHLY recommend them!

There are very few people in this world who can say they love their jobs; well luckily I’m one of them – I adore mine.

As this is quite a strange fact you may be questioning the statement; well to put your mind at ease – the main reason why I love my job is: The beauty it comes with.

While at the Canal Walk Bridal Expo I’m intrigued by all the brides-to-be and their (willing or non) fiancées – browsing and asking questions. So excited for what their future holds; excited about all the ideas and newest trends. Sometimes it happens that you get use to all the prettiness that is the wedding industry, and you forget that it holds such a special meaning to these bridal couples.

Being part of their love journey is what makes my job so amazing; yes you have your off days and yes people still get upset about the smallest things but to them – it’s important; they’re planning their big day – and they are allowing you to join them on their journey; to me it’s an honour more than a job!

I just got back from a meeting; I’m from Cape Town, he’s from Johannesburg.

While discussing work related issues one thing in particular came up; does Cape Town residents believe in building relationships more, rather than people from Johannesburg who’s main aim seems to be work, work, work, money, money, money? (I’m not referring to any one in particular; definitely not the guy from my meeting.)

Or perhaps it’s just my way of thinking?

My aim from now onwards is to build relationships and maintain them throughout my life on earth – life really is to short for grumpy people!

There you go; my 10cents for the day!

So after much speculation and weighing of options; I decided to rather go to the gym than exercise outdoors!

This may seem strange as I was in town, had to endure 5 ‘o clock traffic and my petrol light – very appropriately – switched on, but I managed to keep calm and take the high road!

I am very happy about my decision as just then, I received an email from Z2 – she wasn’t feeling all that happy! Now, usually I would suggest wine and in a way I did but Z2 suggested our tradition – a red cuppachino from Woolworths! She did end up having wine – I didn’t – but I suspect she needed it a tad more than me!

After our catch up I did manage to visit the gym; and I had one of the best sessions ever – it may have been that mixed berry smoothie…or the fantastic chat I had with my friend! I am CERTAIN I needed Z2 more than she needed me! Strange how that works out; right?

I don’t often exercise in the great outdoors – I much prefer a air-conditioned environment – but as I had a training session scheduled for today (which unfortunately had to be cancelled) I thought, “Why not grab the opportunity and take on the Promenade!” This will only include a Jog which is quite a relaxed exercise regime in comparison to my usual training.

My outdoor training experience (if you can call it that) started last week – when I was still a virgin Lion’s Head Climber/Walker/Runner; that’s no longer the situation. {YAY!!}

Now; I won’t go as far as to say I’ll be able to take you on a personal Hiking Tour but I’m sure I’ll be able to figure out – some way or another – to get you up and down the mountain! (That’s a good way to start; right?)

Now the only question is, “Do I take on the Promenade, Lion’s Head or the familiar gym?”

What do you think of out door exercising?

Some may say going to the YDE Naked sale (where everything’s R99) is utterly ridicioulous and I would most likely agree – EXCEPT it’s so much fun and you really do get such great bargain deals!!

Every year, myself, Z1 and Z2 attend the ‘calender event’ and every year I ask myself, “WHY?” But then I remember – it’s tradition!

This year I managed to get some great garments – I bought a white double breasted trench-coat, black widelegged trousers, an army green skinny, a silk top and a burnt orange – with gold emphasis around the shoulder area – maxi dress! All for JUST below R500! Now – come on ; no one can argue – THAT requires good shopping skills!!

I had a blast; although exhausted afterwards (as well as broke) – I cannot wait for the next naked sale! It’s going to rock!

At last – the 14th of February has arrived and (as I’ve mentioned yesterday) I am very excited!!

I will be celebrating with my BF, as well as with Z1 and her better half at Addis in Cape in Cape Town. This will be our first visit to the restaurant so I’m really looking forward to learning about the Ethiopian Culture and eating their yummy food!

Today’s also the one day in the year when I allow myself to eat as much sweet treats as I wish; which is Great!

I’m very much in the spirit of things and even got beautiful pink nail polish to go with my Pink/White/Red outfit of the day!

Happy Valentine’s Day and Share the Love; Pay it forward! It need not cost you a cent!
