Yesterday was quite the day of eating since arriving in Durban on Friday – the morning started of with a 3km run, follwed by 120 different sit-ups and crunches as well as a few push-ups!

I went for breakfast at around 8:30 and what a feast for the eyes! It was so hot – as always it seems – so I ended up having Belaire Suit’s homemade granola, greek yoghurt and loads and loads of fruit! It was delicious but I may have overindulged just a little bit, nontheless I grabbed 2 apples and – was on my way to the NWJ Bridal fair!

Like I mentioned; Durban is very hot as well as dry – this leaves me thirsty all the time! So I had about 3L of water as well as apples and a Yoga Berry (no dairy) Kauai Smoothie for lunch! Hmmmm!

This is still all good and well; what followed the evening may have been – what do they call it – carb overload! It was amazingly delicious though! Myself and a friend went to Cafe Jiran for dinner – we had wine, the most amazing veg lasagne I’ve EVER eaten follwed by what might have been the best ice cream and chocolate sauce in our existance!

It was a super fun night – the only thing is; I still have to have true Durban Curry! So, tonight I’m on the search for just that!

It’s drizzling today but nevertheless; I’m attempting at least a 2km jog! That ice-cream certainly won’t vanish any other way!

I’ll post some more pics soon!

Being from Cape Town; I’m not use to the humid weather I’m currently experiencing in Durban!

I just arrived in the city of heat – no I’m not referring to the curry! According to my phone the real feel of today is 36! I should be on Campsbay Beach and then Bungalow enjoying a mojito but alas; I’m in Durban.

I don’t mind that much though – I’m here to meet and greet industry vendors and brides-to-be which is always great!

I’ll post updates and pics!

There are very few people in this world who can say they love their jobs; well luckily I’m one of them – I adore mine.

As this is quite a strange fact you may be questioning the statement; well to put your mind at ease – the main reason why I love my job is: The beauty it comes with.

While at the Canal Walk Bridal Expo I’m intrigued by all the brides-to-be and their (willing or non) fiancées – browsing and asking questions. So excited for what their future holds; excited about all the ideas and newest trends. Sometimes it happens that you get use to all the prettiness that is the wedding industry, and you forget that it holds such a special meaning to these bridal couples.

Being part of their love journey is what makes my job so amazing; yes you have your off days and yes people still get upset about the smallest things but to them – it’s important; they’re planning their big day – and they are allowing you to join them on their journey; to me it’s an honour more than a job!

Myself and 3 friends were invited to attend the launch of the newly built (it burned down in 2009) Mangwanani African Spa at Zevenwacht (Kuilsriver, Northern Suburbs) and what a relaxing and beautiful experience!

We were beyond pampered  – our day/evening included a full body, foot and leg as well as a back and neck massage, dinner, snacks, beverages and the most amazing view, which I actually cannot describe! Although the road to the spa is quite rough and uneven (I nearly had a heart attack) it is very possible to take it on with a normal (not a 4×4) car. You’ll have to drive in first gear but believe me – It’s SO worth it!

We had our faces painted, drank bubbly, ate delicious food, had the most amazing treatments and the view – my goodness; nothing  I’ve seen before. During the day you are surrounded by vineyards but when the sun sets, the street lights welcome you into their world and you cannot help but relax and be thankful for what you are witnessing.

It was absolutely beautiful and it comes highly recommended!

Yesterday I returned from – what may well be – one of the most fun Music Festivals I’ve been to in ages; Up the Creek in Swellendam.

The weather was perfect (except for the wind which tore our tent); there we’re loads of amazing bands playing all over the festival grounds, friendly people from all walks of life…and…the Bacardi Twister Game!

Myself and my two best friends attempted this rocking camp weekend and although some people (perhaps ourselves) had their doubts, we pulled it off. Yes, our tent tore but hey, we got someone else’s AND we didn’t even have to put it up or take it down (YES!!) Yes, we had to walk to get our own drinks but hey, it’s good for the rear – we had the most amazing time – just us 3. No worries, no nothing! And – we even got to witness a WEDDING! YAY!!

P.s – I quite enjoyed the KONGOS (I was newly introduced).

Here are a few pics from this weekend. ENJOY!
